ORANGE!!!

I had an e-mail from our agency yesterday. We received Orange. This is the authorization to do the final DNA test. This is the last step before we get our Pink Slip (Embassy appt.). The end of February looks like it will be it. I can't wait. I want my baby now!!!

Officially a Farrell

We finally got our update today. The birthmom did sign off which means our adoption is officially complete as far as that is concerned. They got his new BC on the 23rd with 'Farrell' as his last name. He is officially a 'Farrell'. They got his passport on the 25th so now we are off to the U.S. Embassy. We are now waiting for Orange. It is the authorization for the final DNA test. They now check to make sure that the child in the first DNA test is the same child we are taking home. We had to pay the fee up front to help push it along. Usually they charge your credit card which will delay the process a few days. Once the test is taken it is compared & the results are sent off to the U.S. Embassy. Once they see that it is a match they will issue our Pink slip. This is our Embassy appt. where we get to apply for his VISA. This will also tell us when we get to go get him. We are going to go down 2-3 days before so we can have Mommy, Daddy & Cameron time. I am not working now so I am trying to keep busy so I don't think about this constantly. He is already packed except for his hat for the pool. It took me awhile to pick out what clothes to take. I got his official embassy appt. outfit & some new shoes this weekend so he will be looking good. Not that my boy needs the help. I will post the picture soon. Now we have to get Mom & Dad packed, our paperwork has to be put together to take with us & find babysitters for the dogs. We don't want Dan's mom & dad to have to come home but I know Grandma & Grandpa F. won't want to be away. I have had a little bit of a difficult time b/c I keep thinking about how his foster mother will react when he is finally with us. This woman & her family have truly taken good care of our son. They have loved him as if he was their own for the last 9 months. (This is his 2nd foster home.) He will also be her last foster child b/c now the Guatemalan government does not want there to be any more fostering to try to help out with the baby trafficing. I plan on keeping in touch with her. The birth mother has also asked us to keep in touch via the adoption agency which are more than willing to do. This woman gave up her child for a better life. If it wasn't for her we wouldn't have this beautiful child coming into our life. Thanks to all of you for your love & support.

Ready for my son!

We are waiting for the final steps of our adoption to be completed. We got out of PGN (immigration) on January 14th, 2008. Our agency called me at work & I was screaming & jumping all over the office. We get an update every Friday & we were told that his birth mom was supposed to sign off for the final time 01/17 & they requested new birth certificate on the 18th. I really hope these steps actually occured since they told us it was approx. dates. We are hoping to travel end of February or very beginning of March at the latest. We spent this week finishing his room & washing the closet & dresser full of clothing. Needless to say he is truly a "Farrell" when it comes to the wardrobe.
