Holy Cow!

Who are these strange people? My poor baby.
First bottle from mommy!

First nap on mommy's chest.
First smile for mommy!

6 months ago on February 27th, 2008 we landed in Guatemala sick to our stomachs & checking our watches every 5 minutes. We were finally going to get to meet our son!! We couldn't believe we were finally bringing him home. We decided to pursue adoption on my 29th birthday. We were at dinner discussing whether to proceed to the next step of infertility treatment or maybe adopt from Guatemala. We knew we wanted to adopt internationally we just never thought it would be our first child. That night we decided that I just couldn't handle any more pills, shots or IUIs and jumped on the adoption train. When we signed our contract children where coming home at 6-8 months of age. Our social worker decided to have us take 13 weeks of classes rather than just do the homework. This also put us back 13 weeks b/c of the classes. But if we wouldn't have done them then we would have never received the referral of Edwin Rodolfo. We had actually requested information on a little boy that was in the e-mails we would receive daily of children available. After hearing we would have to travel in 2 days to do a POA and that there was another family paper ready that wanted him we decided to just wait. Well Sunday February 25th, 2007 our phone rang. It was a call from Medina, Ohio. I immediately knew it was Building Blocks. There were flying 2 people in from Guatemala to get some POAs done b/c there was a chance that if you didn't have a POA filed in Guatemala by the end of that week that you would be cut off until they re-opened. They e-mailed us a referral for Edwin Rodolfo. I just looked at him smiling & making faces in those pictures. I looked at Dan and said "That's him. That's our son." We tried to visit but when we went to schedule our agency said it was too dangerous right now so we decided to wait. Well by the time it was safe again we were PINK! So one year and 12 days after our son entered the world we finally got to hold him. He was terrified of us and we of him being first time parents. But mommyhood kicked in and I have never regretted anything. He is the most awesome, goofy, loving, entertaining, intelligent, gorgeous son I could ever ask for. He really looks like Dan and snores like him too!! We love you Cameron and look forward to so many more wonderful memories with our son! Now if you would just stop growing for mommy?!
